Day Ten: L'Oreal Youth Code
Ok, so after using the new L'Oreal Youth Code product line for ten days, I'm pretty pleased. I do have to say that my previous post was slightly erroneous, as on it's own, the moisturizer is not as silky as I thought. At this point, I think the core of the line is the Serum Intense. Applying the serum first is what makes the moisturizer go on so wonderfully -- there is almost a cooling effect that spreads across your entire face. (After using the moisturizer on it's own, I noticed that although it was still nice, and hydrated well without feeling heavy or greasy, the application was nowhere near as silky as it is when first applying the serum). Aside from the nice feel of the application, I have noticed that my skin seems to maintain it's moisture level much better than normal, especially with the cold dry winter weather. I've also noticed a smoother and healthier look to my complexion which could be due simply to better hydration or skin cell turnover. Either way, pretty pleased.
The only weak point that I've seen so far is the eye cream. The intended applicator is a contoured metal tip that is supposed to 'massage' the eye area while smoothing in the cream. While the tip does quite a bit to cool the eye area in order to help reduce puffiness, it does not do a lot to smooth in the eye cream itself and I am left using my ring finger to finish the job. Also, have had some difficulty with makeup application after using the cream, and mascara smudging; which is usually not an issue for me.
At this point in the game, I would say the Serum Intense is probably the shining star in this collection paired with the Day/Night Cream moisturizer. Both of them make me smile.
